NHS Direct becomes a certified member

NHS Direct has become the latest organisation to gain accreditation to the Information Standard. It’s great news for the scheme as it’s another high profile organisation which has recognised the importance of quality, evidence based patient information. It joins an illustrious group of fellow members that now cover a wide range of health conditions and social care areas. With over 120 organisations now accredited, and with a similar number going through the accreditation process, momentum is really starting to grow. This is really encouraging especially as a recent Information Standard survey told us that 72% of the general public say they would be better able to manage their own and family’s health if they had quick and easy access to information they could trust. We know the Information Standard logo helps give them that trust.
